Prof Ijumba is the Research and Innovation Programme Manager for Coventry University’s Africa Hub in Kigali, Rwanda. He has long-standing experience in university administration, including as Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Research & Innovation at the University of Rwanda, based in the African Centre of Excellence in Energy for Sustainable Development (ACEESD), and as Faculty Dean, Department Director, and project lead for research initiatives at the University of KwaZulu Natal, where he is now an Honorary Professor of Electrical Engineering. He has supervised numerous master’s and PhD student theses and continues to actively contribute to the academic profession through project and student support.
