Niklas Hayek is an Austrian national based in Germany with extensive experience in Africa and Latin America in the international development sector. He is a consultant, project manager and environmental engineer with a focus on advising international organisations in the areas of energy, environment, water, climate change, education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Niklas is experienced in advising and coaching young entrepreneurs and innovators in the energy sector. He has acted as the gender focal point of an EU-funded energy policy programme and coordinated a component of an EU-funded programme on innovation, skills development and entrepreneurship in the energy field, resulting in the establishment of two master’s programmes, an energy research centre and incubation unit at African universities. He has run various training programmes and created a research & innovation platform involving 1000+ experts. He is also a visiting university lecturer on international technical cooperation. He was the team lead for the Ukraine project , the Green Skills Toolkit and the Ethiopia project.
